Hello there, grapple fans.
This is a new website for me – purely to shed some light on British zoological nomenclature.
That is to say… I will be posting regularly here (as “The Black Rabbit” or “TBR” to explain the literal meaning behind the scientific (generic and specific) names of a great many (I hope) of our British fauna (from insects to mammals).
Stay tuned to be delighted, amused, interested or even disgusted at our zoologists’ original thought processes as they set about scientifically classifying and naming our zoological curiosities…
